There were many grouses about why this event falls on a Monday and I find it ridiculous when some were even asking for a change of date. Midears, this is an Asia tour our boy is doing and it means travelling from one country to another back to back non-stop for a period of time. Some countries’ schedule happened to fall all on weekdays compare to KL having 2 weekends and 1 weekday events. Shouldn’t we be thankful? So next time please think twice before asking such question and it is ridiculous to ask for a change of date just because you cannot attend a certain event. Organisers would have considered all of these and sometimes we just can’t please everyone. Ok? Sorry I just have to say all these because I find it absolutely ridiculous when question like this is being asked. Period.

So being a Monday, we all took leave from work. Shienyin and I were out of house by 8am and were in town by 8.30am. Had our breakfast and went on to Pavilion for the 1^st outlet visit. Slightly before 10.30am, HJ made his way in looking really smart. He was looking happy that morning smiley smiley J

I was looking and checking him out when I realized how his eyes were really sparkly. He was wearing his diamond studs but his eyes were even more dazzling than those stones. I don’t know why but I never knew he has such eyes. Haha. Shienyin was one of the 10 winners who got a chance to take couple pics with him. After photo taking he went on the customary walk around the outlet…..as he was about to turn the final U he turned back and went back to where the haircare products were. He actually wanted to buy some stuff! Everybody was surprised. :O ‘Wow! KHJ is buying the product himself!’ His manager paid for his purchases, he said goodbye and left for another session of interviews.

You know he is just so smart! I love how he is doing his job as TFS spokesperson. I don’t know about TFS but I will definitely sign him on for another round hahaha. I wonder if he did the same in other countries. Ok these are what he bought. I’ve tried the Keratin range and they are really really good especially the essence ^^

So, go get your set of KHJ’s Special Selection.

He is scheduled for another outlet visit at Times Square at 3pm before the final fans gathering event at 3.30pm. We decided to skip the outlet visit and went to the fans gathering ground. It was nice meeting the TFS staff again after last year’s event. We were all actually quite worried about the crowd since it was a work and school day. It was quiet at first and the rain didn’t help. But it stopped after a while and the crowd grew.

The 3 fanclubs (TSMY, MY_KHJ & Triple S) meal support project too was accomplished and well delivered to HJ and the visiting Korean crew.

These were what they were served ^^

TFS started the charity auction prior to HJ’s arrival. First item was an autographed standee. It was quite worrisome when there were no responses from the crowd. TFS boss offered to keep the standee for good with RM5000. Then the MC was given a bid written on paper. It was a RM3000 bid. TFS boss’ offer stays so standee is worth RM8000. Next was an autographed knee protector which went for RM2000. Soon after HJ arrived and went on stage. He changed outfit and I double love his new look. He looked absolutely dashing!

Coming onto stage he greeted his fans. MC invited the fans to chant which made him smiley. Oh~ I just love it so much when he smile J

Next, the winning bidders were invited onto stage for the mock presentation and photo taking.

Then it was turn for the top 10 spenders to get their photo taken with him. Yours truly was one of the lucky 10 all thanks to the overseas fans who bought their TFS products via me which added on to my previous purchases since joining TFS membership ^^

I do not have any pics during this time though there were quite many posted by others here and there. At time of posting I am still waiting for official photos from TFS so please just bear with my babbling for the time being ok? hehe..

While I was waiting for my turn which I have requested to be the last one to go, there were some Koreans standing near me with 2 kids. They were holding roses each and shouting out to HJ, “오빠 이거 좀 받아주세요!! 오빠 사랑합니다!! 오빠 이거 좀 받아주세요!!” (Oppa, please receive this! I love you!) They were so cute so I offered to pass their roses to him and tell them their message. At first they were quite reluctant to let go of their roses and ask me if I will really give it to him hahahahaha..

You know, frankly speaking I wasn’t nervous or excited but I was worried if my speaking Korean will turn awry when I speak to him because due to ‘time constraint’ I’ll have to speak faster than usual so it wasn’t easy haha. It was “Hello hello” first then we got right to the photo taking, pose pose..yeah with the roses too. Once done, I had wanted to move away from him a little so that I can talk to him and tell him about the roses. But the next thing I knew he put his hand across my back and pulled me back for a hug. Seriously, I didn’t see this coming so I was surprised and said “oh…ok ok” when we were hugging hahaha.. finally when we are done, yeah I still have yet to finish my roses mission so, I gave him the flowers and told him they were from the kids and showed him where they were standing and asked him to wave to them…just right in time before I got chased down the stage. Hahahahaha..sorry everyone I wasn’t trying to delay my time on stage or trying to be with him longer but I just gotta do what I’ve promised the kids hehe..

If you ask me how the hug was or how does it feels now……I really don’t know. Of course, I really like HJ and of course he is so so good looking so cute and all but to me….and I am being frank here…he is and will always be like a younger brother to me. Absolutely different from how I feel about you know who haha and that may also be due to the fact that I’ve always have the thought that HJ is his brother so I have to take care of him as well and that brother thingy thought stayed. I know many will be envy and I don’t deny the fact that I was really lucky to get the chance so yeah it was great. And hey..he has to be thankful to me too for those mangosteens I bought him and he can now go home and tell his big bro he tried and like them too bwahahahahaha..

Autographing session was next so everyone got in queue. Artistes have been trained to do signing at a certain speed and I HJ’s speed is about 5-6 seconds each signature. Again I chose to be among the last to go for the autograph. Because he was signing so quickly I couldn’t really get to talk to him and he was actually quite blur during then cause when I asked if he could write my name, he looked up at me blank “huh?” He probably didn’t expect me to speak in Korean so I asked him again and he smiled and said sorry he can’t write names. Hmm…do you think he will graduate to write names next time? I notice not many artistes will write fans’ names for an autograph especially during session like this when things gotta go fast. BYJ is one rare case where he will always address the person he signs for so hopefully next time HJ will pick this up haha..

The gals from the fanclubs were the last to go. While they were moving along, the MC introduced and told HJ that one of the fans is pregnant and spontaneously he took the mic and wished her and her baby well. Smart! See this is why I like the boy so much. I love it when he does those out of the blue stuff. ^^

When it was almost done, someone from among the crowd wanted to contribute another RM1000 for the good cause. It surprises everyone and when interpreter was telling HJ about it he was trying to look for the person. So everyone started to point to where the gal was and he actually asked the gal to go on stage! I really think nobody expected this. He wanted to thank the gal and she came on stage and got her own chance of a lifetime with him up close.

Actually there were many things that happened along the way which is difficult to put into words. Sometimes there are things where I can only express to you verbally so I’ll draw the line here about the 3D2N outing with KHJ.

Lastly I would like to thank first of all the organisers for making all this possible.

Warner Music Malaysia, I know and hear your story so thank you very much for sticking throughout the whole tour. It meant a lot for the local fans and KHJ to be able to promote his debut solo album here in Malaysia. No doubt there were some hiccups along the way but most importantly is that it all ended smoothly. So once again thank you and I look forward to another round of ‘collaboration’ with you and your team^^

The FaceShop Malaysia, this has been a really successful event. You did well and I’ve heard lots of praises for you. You not only made the fans happy but you made KHJ really really happy too so thank you very much for that. When he comes back next year for his concert, let’s make it even bigger!!! Shall we start planning from now?? Haha..

Interpreter, Joseph Lee (NU Entertainment), you did a great job. We are all totally impressed with your command of Mandarin. You were so good that many actually thought you are a Chinese. Though you did not do a word for word interpretation, I know that’s impossible, you still did really well especially when you can do both Mandarin and English so it minimizes the lost in translation thingy. You will have my recommendation anytime. Good luck and all the best to you in 台大!

fyi, Joseph is a Korean who has lived in Malaysia for many years. When I first spoke to him over the phone I had to ask if he is Korean or Malaysian because his command of English and Mandarin is so good. I was pretty sure we will be engaging him for the job right after the call that I told TFS that he will be the one no problem.

Kim Hyun Joong & crew, thank you for making Malaysia part of the tour. It was and will always be our pleasure to host you in our country. Let us all meet again when you come back for your inaugural solo concert early next year.

KHJ’s coordi noona promised me to meet again next year so I’ll make sure she makes sure he comes. Hahahahaha..

And last but not least, to all fans.

Without all of you, there will never be any of these events. It was you who made all of these a success.

Especially to the 3 fanclubs, TSMY (Chinese Forum), MY_KHJ and TripleS Malaysia, well done and congratulations! You’ve pinned Malaysia on U:ZOOSIN’s earth map for sure.

Breaking Down with KHJ in KL Aug 2011

It all started about 2 moons ago when news was out that KHJ will be visiting us again soon in KL. At the time I had told myself that this time round I’ll just be a good guest at all events and not do anything. I really think it’s time for me not to get involved but to just really enjoy. But, next thing I know I started getting in touch with my contacts trying to dig for more info. Well, I guess bad habit never dies and frankly, somehow I felt indebted to YJ. What? Indebted? Goodness gracious why am I feeling indebted to him??? Haha..crazy huh?

For those who don’t know, KHJ’s management agency, Keyeast, is owned by BYJ. So that makes them an item and YJ has been taking really good care of HJ ever since and SO somehow somewhat I feel that I should do the same. You know, big bro taking care of little bro and noona taking care of little bro kind of thing hahahahaha..

Ok ok ok let’s cut the story short. Like what I’ve blogged earlier here and here it was both fun and frustrating getting things in order and ready for the alien’s arrival ^^

I and on behalf of our BYJ’s Malaysia Family (BMF) has no qualms over what to present to little bro for his visit this time. Mangosteens!!! The time is just so right and thinking back, it was about 7 years and 1 moon ago that YJ first came to KL during the durian and mangosteen season J Yong bought a basketful of mangosteens, rambutans and pulasan the night before he arrive and got them packed nicely and ready to be presented.

The alien has landed.

Shienyin and I decided that we will skip the airport welcome and went to the hotel instead. He has already checked in when we arrive so we missed the hoohaas. After some courtesy call with the local organisers, we arranged for our BMF fruit basket to be delivered to HJ and his team. (I was told later that mangosteens were the favorite! Haha)

We were having coffee break in the lobby when Mr.Jeong, HJ’s bodyguard appeared. It seems like he came out for a breather when some Taiwanese fans spotted him and asked him for a pic. We went ahead too asking for the pic because Shienyin said we shouldn’t miss the chance since he’s also a good looking guy! He was quite obliging but he went back up right after the pic. Poor thing we must have scared him off and took away his breathe

Press conference was scheduled to begin at 5pm but it only started about 50mins later. In situation like this, most people especially the media would blame the artiste for being late but not this time. There was a genuine case of technical slipped up of arrangement that had caused the delay so HJ has no choice but to appear later than expected.

Oh, I gotta say that this press event (for a Korean artiste) is one of the ‘largest’ one I’ve seen so far. There were about 200 plus pax in the ballroom and after deducting the non-media and ‘non-genuine’ media, I think there were about a hundred media people who came. Warner commented that they did not expect the turnout to exceed the initial 60 confirmed rsvp. Wow I guess the Korean wave must be really really the in thing now that the local media can’t ignore.

Though his mood wasn’t really jolly that day he still managed to pose nicely to the media. Zooming in on him I could see that the boy has not been sleeping well. Conference was over in about 30mins and we all went home soon after.

20.08.2011 KHJ Break Down Album Asia Promo Tour, Hi-Five Session (Warner Music)

It was an early day for both Shienyin and I because we wanted to beat the crazy traffic to the place where the event will be held at Gardens Residence, Mid Valley City. This is a shopping area where traffic on weekends is ridiculous. When we were on our way at about 10am, I received a call from Rachel (TSMY) telling me that they were being chased away by the hotel management for ‘illegal assembly’.

Hi-Five session was scheduled to start at 4pm and Warner were to begin their album sales at 12pm

So Rachel said that they will start to use the Korean queue system to ensure fairness of first come first serve. Good gal. I’m glad they remember what I told them about the goodness of the Korean queue system and put them into good use ^^

When we finally arrived, there were already more than 150 headcounts. After checking through with the gals and making sure everything is in order with the next recount at noon we all went for food!

The line grew during the next recount and I was getting a little worried when there was still no sign of any staff from Warner. Calls to Warner went unanswered so we have no choice but to just get the line in order. You know, all of a sudden we became ‘spokesperson’ for Warner.

Soon when I have almost 400 people in line, the hotel management came again and said to me that I have to call the crowd away and come back only when the sales start at 2pm. Seriously, this man who spoke does not know what he just said. I do understand the hotel policy but the arrangement and crowd that day was actually really good. Of course, we can’t help the noise a little especially when the crowd is still building but it really wasn’t that bad. Everyone did well to control. So I told him, “Do you know how many people are here? I can call off the crowd no problem but when they do come back at 2, you’ll get a messier crowd than this and definitely a chaos.” The man looked at me without saying anything and he walked away. Haha. I seriously had no idea what he had in mind at that time but I’m pretty sure he didn’t know what to say or do.

Warner’s staff only showed up at about 2pm, thank you, and went right on to set up their sales booth. After some discussion with the staff and the organiser’s security leader, the fans were allowed to move in to the sales area by batches. Soon everyone was anticipating HJ’s arrival in the ballroom. Jeremy was the MC for the session and he did a great job entertaining the fans while waiting. We have less than a thousand people that day but the screams were still deafening! He was surely happy to hear the fan chant ‘김현중 우리의 Only 1 and #1!’ (Kim Hyun Joong Our Only 1 and #1!) Hi-five-ing started soon after the intro speech.

HJ look much much better and was very smiley during the event. There were quite a number of guy who came including some uncles who were accompanying their kids. So when it was turn for the uncles to hi-five him HJ went ‘Huh?’ hahaha so cute!

The session went smoothly and was over at about 5 plus. I only realized that I have been standing for more than 6 hours non-stop when I finally got to sit down for dinner with the TSMY gals.

Though I was really tired but I did enjoy myself. It may not seem worthwhile doing what we were did managing the fans queue when Warner should have been more prepared. But I am also glad to be able to help managed the fans because all we wanted was to have things go smoothly so no complaints. Having said that, I would also like to thank Warner for allowing us to be of assistance. Next round you’ll know who to look for ok? Hahaha..

Kpop Talent Hitz !

It was on the same kimbap making afternoon that a Kpop Talent Show will be having their finale and MTV World Asia Stage at night. Both events at different end of the town and since I only got invitation to the Kpop finals I’ve got no problem deciding which way to go haha. By the way, BEAST was at MTV World Stage.

Right after kimbap the TSMY gals and i headed straight to Bentley Music Auditorium for the Kpop finals. The event was hosted by *Astro Hitz. The show was already into their 8^th finalist when we arrived. The solo singers we saw were so-so but the dancers were not bad.

*Astro Hitz = One of local pay tv channel.

Top 3 finalist were, Jay-son, EGS and Ruffneckz. The latter announced as the winner with a 5D4N trip to Seoul and a chance to perform at Lotte World! Oh they should have had the chance already because they left for Seoul on Wednesday ^^

Ruffneckz’s leader was teary but quickly recovered soon enough to briefly show off their skills again in front of the camera. I tell you this guy got style and he does look a little like Korean and with a little luck the boys can be STARs.

The gals were kind of shy to ask for a pic with them. I told them that if they don't ask for one now, they'll regret it when they become famous. In the end, this kay-poh unni gotta do the dirty job for them hahahaha..

Winners trip to Seoul grand prize were sponsored by KTO KL. Mr.Yun when will you be sponsoring my trip to Seoul? ^^

Gals preparing kimbap for KHJ ^^

Finally on Sunday morning(thats last Sunday morning) I went for a little shopping spree on my own. Wait. Did I just say shopping SPREE??? No no no…my wardrobe needed a serious ‘new for old exchange’ program so I got myself just a few pieces. Hehe..

The 3 KHJ FCs were invited to a Kimbap making event by Street Café. Street Café manager, Eddie suggested we make some Triangle Kimbap (삼각밥 Samgakbap) and the event was fully sponsored by them J

The 3 FCs will be collaborating with Street Café for a special KHJ treat so please contact any one of the FCs for more info.

Representatives were from each of the 3 FCs. Chef prepared all stuff to be used, rice, seaweed sheet, tuna mayo, beef bulgogi, bbq chicken, triangle container, gloves etc. oh the apron..nice? Tyra (TripleS Msia) bought for the gals ^^

oh yeah..the Chef Mr.Park, he is Korean so you can be assured of the quality of food.

Call it crazy but it was real fun when out of a sudden the gals scream in while making the kimbap. The café was playing Korean MTVs when HJ’s Break Down came on. No wonder the scream la. Haha..

Oh yeah, this was my lunch that day and I gotta say the kimchi tuna jigae was delicious!

Eddie, you should suggest to Andrew about opening an outlet here in the heart of KL. Then I’ll make sure to make it a must-go eatery for the BYJ’s Malaysia Family.

I was looking forward to Saturday’s dinner. Emily and Miyo were in town for some weekend shopping joining bb. We were to meet for a crabby dinner near my place in Kepong. I’m glad they…or rather the cab driver managed to find the place because ‘smart cabbies’ are a rare gem here :p

Our dishes for the night. I normally don’t take pics of food but how not to when everyone is? Hehe..

We almost had to literally carry our stomach walking out from the restaurant to the car. However, there was a mention about *durian and the next thing we know I was taking all of us to a durian stall. But once the gals checked in on their smartphones on their whereabouts, we were told that the delicious ‘mausan wang’ type of durian is out of stock L

Sorry gals, next round I’ll buy and let the durians wait for your arrival here instead ok? J

*durian > thorny, smelly but delicious fruit. Also known as the King-of-fruits.

(think YJ don’t really like this? because he had only bought the rambutans and mangosteens when he was here. durians were in season then too.)

Without durians we went back to the hotel. Yeah, we actually did decide to pack-away the king of fruits and sneak them back to the hotel! Bwahahahahaha… FYI, durians are banned from hotels due to its smelly nature.

You may ask, what does the 4 of us have in common, right? Eerrr….do you even need to ask???

Gals, thanks for a wonderful night out. Love the food, talk, laughter and most of all the company!

Bb, I really enjoyed the part when we think back and talk about OUR man. We are seriously and will always be a different breed ^^

Was almost 2.30am when I got home that nig..morning and next thing I know bb said she finished her bubble tea. Oh not only her all 3 of them too! Ok, they were having coffee, tea and chestnut too before I left. :o

What? Singaporeans have better digestive systems than Malaysians???

But that nigh…morning I went to sleep thinking of my share of the bubble tea calling for me in the fridge downstairs !!!

Kim Hyun Joong is coming to town AGAIN!

I must admit that I slept like a log on Sunday night and the fact that my alarm clock had been mysteriously adjusted, to go off at 12.15am Monday morning remains a mystery, did nothing to help at all. Yeah, I woke up 45mins later that I should on a working day!!!

Hmm..is this sign of ‘age catching up’??? Dieeezzzzz…

Anyhow, it all started with a boy named Kim.Hyun.Joong.

It’s public news that he’ll be touching ground soon with us here in KL next month as part of his 2011 Asia Tour for his debut solo album ‘Break Down’ (organized by Warner Music) and The FaceShop(TFS) promo gig.

Yayy! The boy is coming back to town!! I still remember meeting him up close during his last Dec visit. Too bad there won’t be any showcase this time round because I would LOVE to see him do his KissKiss routine. So.So.C.U.T.E.!

Should touch a little on his Asia Tour? Ok.

His management agency Keyeast (KE), officially released his KL dates as follows:

21^st Aug – ‘Break Down’ Album Promotion

22^nd Aug – TFS Promotion

In all hype and hoo-hahs, this *kay-poh ‘noona’ (at least to HJ haha..and I would die to hear him call me that J) decided to come out to play haha…

*kay-poh ‘noona’ = kay-poh > person who likes to meddle with other’s business. noona > elder sister, greeted by younger guy

TFS Malaysia, was really helpful in providing us with info of their event which makes things easier for us. After a successful TFS-KHJ outing last Dec, many are looking forward to another great day on the 22^nd.

Fine. Since I'm on this topic let me just talk a bit about their current KHJ Asia Tour Purchase With Purchase mechanics.

1. Yes. It is a lucky draw game.

2. Yes. You will have to purchase RM200 & above of FACE IT BB Cream product range PLUS a copy of KHJ 'Break Down' album (Korean Version) worth RM19.90 to be eligible for the draw.

People please be smart. The rule says you will be eligible for the draw for purchase above RM200 so if you are buying RM400 or RM600 then split them into 3 bills!

3. You MUST buy the album in order to be eligible. 'Break Down' is your 'license/passport'!

4. 'Top Spender Members'. TFS have just started their membership drive about 2 months ago. So this will be applicable to those who are a member and have made purchases since becoming a member. It will be the accumulated purchases made since becoming a member. The last I heard, the highest accumulated purchases totalled at RM3000++

5. KHJ/TFS event will be held both in Pavillion & Berjaya Times Square on Saturday, 22nd Aug 2011. Being in these 2 places it is pretty obvious that they are open public places right? ^^

6. TFS is TFS. They cannot answer on behalf of Warner Music.

(I would advise that you please at least read through the info and comments posted about the event before asking/questioning. Most of the time the answers to your questions are there. You just need to read and pay a little attention :) It’s kinda annoying for anyone to answer when an answer has been repeatedly answered just right in front of you. I know some of the gals from the FCs have been trying to help TFS out by providing obvious answers but frankly and sorry to say we can’t be too pampered all the time.)

As of now I am writing this there is still no news about Warner’s mechanics. Also no info in their facebook too. We all know it’s gonna be a Hi-Five session but no idea how it’ll work.

3 KHJ-related fanclubs, My_KHJ, TSMY and TripleS Malaysia, have decided to come together in preparation for his upcoming visit. You may check with any one of those 3 FCs for more info, click on their FC name for link to their FB ^^

I know there are quite a number of overseas fans will be doing their own round of ‘Asia Tour with KHJ’ so the FCs will be in assistance as much as they can and we’ll provide info if we do get any asap. Ok?

Due to all these the FCs decided to meet for a discussion last Saturday at Korea Plaza KL. Though not many came but it was a ‘cosy’ meet-up. It brings back memories as to how we all first started during our ‘hey-days of BYJ’. It was an intro session for most while the BMF sisters who came can only think back and count the years BYJ has brought us all together.

The ‘unni’s gave the younger ones some ‘Star-chasing Survival Tips’ hahahahaha.. We also suggested perhaps we should all make a ‘family’ gathering.

BMF sisters, we were reminiscing one of our best games during one of our gatherings back then, Winter Sonata Scarf game, remember that??? Wanna play again??? Let’s make it a BIG one this time haha.

It was way past lunchtime when we finished. Yong & Shien Yin first left so Rohana, Norni, Lyana with her 2 kids and I went for lunch at Subway. It was my first time having Subway so I walloped the whole thing before I can even think of taking a picture of it hehe..hmm not bad can eat again but this time must double on the sauces!!!

BYJ having Nasi Lemak Kopi 'O'???

it was one fine afternoon that i got a call from Korea Tourism Org. (KTO).
"are you interested to appear for an interview about Winter Sonata?"

if it was you how would you answer?
i thought. i hesitated and i wondered. interview? LIVE TV????

seriously, i doubt. but on second thought...FUN!
they wanted one chinese and one malay(muslim)..
so i called Norni. she too had the same initial reaction i had haha..but she agreed. yayy!!
then i had this idea of having more of us there. even though they only need 2 to be on air, im sure it wouldnt hurt to have some sisters supporting us in the studio. so i asked around and shienyin decided to tag along.

when the producer called for a final confirmation, i asked if its possible to have all 3 of us on air. 'Yes! no problem.'
with this all 3 of us went into a 'byj treasure hunt'.
the programme segment will be talking about Winter Sonata. reminiscing WS....frankly, sometimes i really wonder what is it with WS that it is still so hot even after so so many years!!
anyway, bcos it was so so long ago and i only got the call 2 days ago i didnt have much time to prepare.
i've kept my byj goodies separately in my new home and ive been working late lately so didnt have chance to go pick them up. same with the 2 ladies. we decided to just bring whatever we had with us. so what u 'saw' was what we 'got' haha

once in the studio, the producer took us to the make up room. no, its nothing like those artiste make up room with light bulbs on the mirror. is was just a small and cramp room. i was actually kinda worried with what stuff they are gonna put on my face. i mean sure there were thousands before me who were using the SAME makeup stuff those ppl are having there but was kinda relieved when i noticed that they are using MAC. ok. that doesnt mean anything but at least they have some established brand sponsoring haha :p

after primping, we sat and waited.
we were told that our segment is to be at 8.45am.
8.30am. no signal yet and were not told to even get ready...hmm....
finally at abt 9am a staff came. fixed the mic to us and ran a check on our names.
i didnt want our full names to be screened. i wanted them to show our IDs, names as all of you know us..

haha this one so funny. when i zoomed in when i took this but didnt know the guy was clasping his hands together and the card held out to the gal host was written 'help' hahahahaha

we propped the stuff we brought along with us but i noticed they kinda check thru what we took out and they kinda 'put away' those that will give away free publicity. (sorry TFS, my plan failed..mian~) oh even our BMF logo...they kept that away :p

then....5,4,3,2, we are "ON AIR"
ok. im not gonna go into the whole segment. i'll skip this but will add in the video clip once available.

all of us thought that it would only be a 15mins segment but we were on for 30mins! oh ok..minues the commercials probably 20mins. so ok 20mins of 'fame' for BMF kakakaka..

the male host were asking if he is as good looking as YJ and the 3 of us were making eye contact didnt know what to say...eerr eerrrr...hahaha..

these guys are from a new local group called 'For Teen' and shienyin and norni were both saying how that particular guy look like a korean bwahahhaha

u know even though the programme is called 'Nasi Lemak Kopi O' we werent serve any of those. yeah there were some packets of nasi lemak but kopi O was no where to be seen. so after we were done, the 3 of us went for breakky.
*nasi lemak - malaysian styled rice with spicy anchovies+eggs+cucumber. kopi O - black coffee

oh dear, we forgot to take any pics! well, that shows how hungry we were. really, we were really hungry..hahahaha..

i wouldnt have accepted the interview if none of you agreed. i had a lot of fun and our chat just now over half boiled-eggs+roti bakar+mee siam was great.

It’s known that Bae Yong Joon will be coming back sooner or later.

On July 13th, his agency, Keyeast said, “Bae Yong Joon has been selecting his next work. Currently, he selected several works.”, “He might come back in the first half of next year (2012) at the earliest” He also stated that “It could be a drama or a movie. He is getting offers from overseas as well”

Bae Yong Joon didn’t act after “TWSST” in 2007. Recently, he appeared in “Dream High” briefly. Thereupon, expectations from his fans are getting higher.

Recently, Hallyu around idol star is very strong. Dramas are also exercising their power. Bae Yong Joon introduced Hallyu with a drama, “Winter Sonata”, and it’s interesting to see how Bae Yong Joon will be able to put more power on current dominant entertainment condition. after all these years, i find myself smitten by a Japanese actor.

it has been so so long long ago, during my jdorama craze days and when kdrama has not been heard of..wow..back in the late 90s early entry into the 21st century...

i was a big fan of Masaharu Fukuyama, Takuya Kimura & Yutaka Takenouchi though i didnt do much about them like i did with one korean man..haha..internet must have been the culprit then hehe..

anyway, Yamashita Tomohisa...
guess its by 'chance' i 'stumbled' upon this guy...

being home on Sunday afternoon means doing nothing but watch TV. we have jdoramas in the afternoon so was caught up with this one called Buzzer Beat. i immediately like the guy Naoki...think he was cute and such good looking face to look at...even mom says he's cute kakaka..

so from then on i look forward to catching with this series but didnt really get a chance to sit in every Sunday and it never cross my mind to watch online..haha.

Buzzer Beat ended. then came a new series Code Blue.

the moment i saw that heli doctor Aizawa i was like wow, he's so cool and so.CUTE!
again i try to be home every sunday just to watch the series...season 1 ended and now we are into season 2.

i was watching last sunday and Aizawa just look so much more good looking then ever during one scene when he was to give medical instruction via telephone.

so i made it a point to dig and find out his real name.
today i did and realised that both Naoki and Aizawa equals to Yamashita Tomohisa. wahhhhh!!!!
no wonder i am so so smitten. bwahahahahaha!!

btw, anyone has any idea/info about this guy?

anyway, im just so happy. this kinda prove im not bias to only korean men and im normal. HA.HA.

I would have to meet with Youngsun unni for dinner coming back to Seoul. After checking ourselves into Namsan Guesthouse, we walked out to Myeondong Station.

(Namsan Guesthouse 2, about 5 mins walk from the subway and about 8 mins walk from N Seoul Tower is a convenient location for all. With Myeondong shopping area just right across the main street from the subway station, you can shop till you drop! But there’s just one thing, the guys manning the place don’t seemed that friendly lor.. or maybe it was just me :p)

I was coming close to the station when I heard “Yokee! Yokee!...Yokee!!”

Huh? Isn’t this Seoul? Unni said she won’t be here until later. So am I hearing things? Well, maybe I’m hearing things.

“Yokee! Yokee!!”

I turned around to see if there’s any Japanese ladies around. None. Then, I saw a familiar face.

It was Norni and JennyT. Hahahaha..

They were to leave that night and were taking a rest after a last round of shopping. I should have taken a picture of Jenny. She was garbed in full winter wear..Jenny arrr so cold meh? Hahahahahaha

Finally, unni arrived. It wasn’t that long before the last I met her. We met when she was here in KL back in 2010. It was still a little early for dinner so Unni took us on a drive along the Blue House and Samcheong-dong in her new Grandeur ^^

Dinner was at this famous Korean restaurant Hanilkwan (한일관) at Ferrum Tower. The restaurant originated in Apgujeong has been around for many years and this one we went too is a new branch. Upon googling I found that this was actually Micky Yoochun’s grandma’s restaurant! 유천아 미안해. 줄 알았으면 사진을 더 많이 직을거야 ㅋㅋ

At the restaurant, we had such a great coincidence meeting with a Korean couple who has stayed in KL for 4 years. They were telling us how much they like Malaysian food while I told them how much I like Korean haha..

We parted with unni when she took us to the foot of Namsan. Having missed Namsan the last 3 times I was here, it became one of the tops on my list this time.

It was a really cold night with slight showers during the day so I was kinda worried about mom. But I promised her it’ll be a beautiful sight and I’ll buy her hot coffee hehe..

Cable car ride took less than 5 mins? Eerr I can’t remember :p

Mom didn’t wanna go up the tower so we settled within the ‘ground floor’.

Namsan was just a brief walk away from the guesthouse so it was only about 10pm when we got back. I told mom it’s still too early for bed so we went out again to Myeongdong. The place hasn’t change much though except for one very noticeable shop façade. Nature Republic. JYJ, Yes! I can see you!

Mom was suggesting supper and said she had always wanted to eat at those pojangmacha she saw in K-dramas. We spotted one nearby the station and we ordered guksu and pajeon (파전). Didn’t wanna pay double for a bottle of soju but we had fun watching the guy at the next table getting drunk as soon as he finished his 2^nd glass. YJ said he can hold his to the 2^nd bottle and myself maybe 1.5 but this guy 2^nd glass?? That’s really fast. He had wanted to sing and was criss-crossing his way out of the tent. Mom was worried if he’ll knock into one of the stand and bring the tent down or not..haha..

Cherry Blossom Day!!!

This was on top of our must-do list. I had hope to coincide with the festival but we were a day late so well never mind. We just wanna see those blooms.

Line 9 was our main route today so we made Noryangjin Fish Market (노량진시장) our first stop.

Line 9 is a new track (well at least to me heh) so the stations and subways were all spanking new and the escalators at Noryangjin Station is almost 2 storeys high! I would have set out at 2am in the morning if Jaeho is still working there but he resigned years ago so I told mom we could sleep a little more and the fishes would still be there no worries. Haha..

재호야 요즘에 개를 얼마예요? 아유~ 너무 보고싶다~~

When we met Jenny and Norni the other day, Jenny said Yeoinaru station is closed for renovation and they had a hard time walking to Yeouido Hangang Park from Yeouido Station instead lugging their luggage along after their journey back from Busan. Well, sometimes, all you need is a little luck during a trip. A sweet young lady I stopped for directions can actually speak very fluent English and said she’s also on her way to the park for the cherry blossoms. So instead of Yeouido Station, we alighted from the National Assembly Station and walked about 10 mins to the park.

Jenny arr, this way was much nearer and easier to walk la..

The blooms here were well I think 10 times much more than what we saw in Jeju 2 days ago. The number of trees plus the sea of the white pinkish flowers were just endless! Mom and I kept saying “Wow~ So pretty and beautiful!” each time we came across a ‘bigger’ bunch of the flowers. Sometimes they are so pretty that they looked so fake and plastic.

Too bad it is still too early into spring that we don’t get to see much of other flowers in town. It was many May(s) ago when mom came with the tour group and she said there were lots and lots of roses and tulips around. Sigh~ Tulips~ Tulips!!! Never mind, this time for the cherry blossoms, next time I’m coming back for the tulips!

We spent quite some time at the park just like the locals did. Office workers, family and friends were having picnic just right under the trees and we had our kimbap and bungo-ppang(붕어빵)^^ I’m sure if I am to work here I’ll do this every single lunch hour. Such bliss~

Later that afternoon, we went down to Kyobobooks at Gwanghwamun and took a brief walk at Cheongyecheon Plaza. It would be a nice cool place to sit around but I had to agree with mom, the water stinks!

Last stop for the day was Dongdaemun. I wasn’t planning to get anything but we bought some things hahaha..

On our walk back to the guesthouse, we bought some fried chickens and a bottle of soju and coffee for dinner. Unni, your strawberries and melons were our dessert. YUMMY!!!

Another market trip for the day. Gwanjang Market (관장시장).

It was almost 10am when we got there and most stalls/shops were just about to open. If you are into varieties, then I would recommend you this place. Food, shoes, clothing, fresh groceries, dried stuff, household & non-household stuff etc. Oh, I bought myself a pair of purple hanbok here^^

It was right here at this market, that I also got myself into ‘trouble’! Read on.

I mentioned food right? Well, this was aplenty here and we wanted to try all of them but of course that’s not possible. Mom wanted to try the porky stuff and the tteokbokki. So we sat at one of the many similar stalls. We ordered the tteok, guksu and a plate of mixed porky stuff.

There’s this Korean specialty you always hear and see on K-dramas/shows. I took a bite into it and it tasted good. Mom didn’t like it and there were only 2 pieces so I ate them all.

We already full half way through the food that we could only take sample pieces of the famous bindaetteok (빈대떡) later.

We left the market for Namdaemun. I’ve heard of this famous pink box mandu (만두dumplings) so I bought 2 pieces when we came across the stall. Hmm, overrated. One particular thing that never changes with Namdaemun, the crowd!! I’ve always had trouble remembering my way around because everything looks just the same everywhere you go :p

I have a dinner date that day so, after some shopping, we left. As soon as I’m back at the guesthouse, I started feeling uneasy, nausea @@...and yeah, I threw up…sorry, mian~ I was so sick from it and mom suspected the 2 pieces of specialty stuff I ate. I’m not gonna describe it in details but glutinous rice was part of what’s in it. I am a person with lots of wind in the stomach and it often causes indigestion. Mom said it must be due to the glutinous rice acting up L mom brought along some medicine from home so after some rest I was feeling better. I freshened up and changed before going out for the date. Oh of course, mom came along too.

We took a taxi from Apgujeong Station and finally we are at the front of our dinner place.

You..ok, I, would wished the date was with that somebody but nope. It was not. You know, in Seoul, or Korea, I do have many other acquaintances than that one person. Ok ok, I know I can’t consider him as an acquaintance but oh dear I’m talking nonsense..sorry mian~

So, my date, no ‘dates’ for that night were my unnis from Baetomisa. It was our ‘family gathering’^^

My Korean teacher who moved back to Korea some years ago came and joined us too.

It was my very first time at GIK and I have always wanted to try the food there. But, but…looks like it was just not my day. I totally had no appetite that night after the ‘ordeal’ but unni insisted on something so I ordered a pumpkin soup. Everyone was having such good looking food but I just couldn’t put any of them to my mouth. Not even the i-waited-so-long-to-try ppat bingsu (밭핑수). LL

I actually felt sorry for myself too sob sob….sigh~

Anyway, food aside, I was really really pleased to meet everyone again.

You may be curious if the unnis speak English well, not really and neither am I good with my spoken Korean hahaha.. but this was never a barrier. Somehow we understand each other and I’m thankful that they understand my half past six Korean.

언니야, 나 더 열심히 할거예요.

샘, 아니, 선생니~임, 말레이시아에 돌아오고 우리 다시 시작하다! ㅋㅋㅋ

언니들, 우리의 만남 시간을 많이 잛지만 너무 좋았어요.

Last day in

Korea

I woke up that morning with slight fever. This was the first time I ever got sick during a trip L

I took some medicine, felt better a little while later and started packing. Ahh, FYI, breakfast in Seoul has been peanut butter and jam bread with coffee self-served from the guesthouse.

It was always not easy to pack at the end of a trip and it doesn’t help when one of our trolley bag started to show signs of retirement. I also had to keep the weight balanced because mom can’t carry heavy bags. We have decided to take the airport bus so the thought of walking down this side and up the other side of the subway station staircases scares me. I’m not new to where we’ll be taking the airport bus so I knew that stairs I’m gonna face later. Yokee-ar FIGHTING!!

We finished packing and by 11am, we were ready to check out of the guesthouse. You are allowed to keep your luggage at the guesthouse while you go out for your last round of shopping so no worries.

Mom suggested that I should get some additional medicine for the stomach so we dropped by a pharmacy. The pharmacist recommended this and this. My first time ever taking medicine this way and it worked well. I felt much much better.

We did some last minute shopping around Myeongdong. I told mom about Korea’s McDonalds pork burger and for lunch she had a Bulgogi burger and yes it was delicious! I regretted not ordering the same. So, I’m coming back again for the Bulgogi burger!

During our dreaded climb with heavy luggage from the stairs at exit 2 of Myeongdong station to across the other exit at Sejong Hotel, we were really lucky. An ajosshi came to my rescue and helped carry one bag up while over the other side, a young gentleman and a lady came to our rescue with one bag each. Thank you! Thank you!

Jenny and Norni, any trouble with your bags then? Hehehehe..

Our flight was at 11.25pm but we arrived at the airport at about six plus. I know some would call me crazy to waste time at the airport but I love Incheon International Airport. The airport has go so many other things you can see, eat and of course buy. Mom had even wanted to clear/finish all of my Korean Won but I refused. I told her, “No. I’m coming back and the balance will be kept as proof.” Hahaha.

Frankly, I did wish for some miracle but the ‘hope’ level was low enough for it to be forgotten.

Especially when I got to know that he went on his own break to Haeundae, I let it go.

And if you are curious, nope I did not make any trip to KE office either or arrange to meet with anyone from KE too.

So there you go. No BYJ. Just mom, Korea and myself!

I'm sure YJ would be happy to know that all of us can enjoy Korea's beauty like he did on his journey.

YJ-nim, with or without you, I'm glad I was able to discover the beauty of Korea's Spring in this journey. :)

I seriously have no idea how I should start writing about the whole escapade.

Quite many things happened during those days and of course days before and after too haha..

But talking about before will take another posting so nahh I won’t get into that else I’ll be talking nonsense on top of nonsense :p

It took me quite some time to get this posted as well because i can't seemed to continue uploading the rest of the photos to the post. So till i figure out why, you may put your own picture to match my babbles..else you may click away..haha..

It was an afternoon flight out of KL to Incheon.

Arrived Incheon and by the time we checked out and checked into Incheon Airport Guesthouse it was slightly after 10.30pm. Gotta say that it felt sooo good to be back! Korea really feels like a second home..some say hometown or 고향 (go-hyang) ^^

The guesthouse has got a complete kitchen so we had light supper hehe..

Note: Due to the late night arrival we decided to stay put in Incheon and take the opportunity to tour the city before departing to Jeju the next day via Gimpo.

Mom and I went out early in search of breakfast and we found this tofu restaurant just behind the guesthouse. It was a cold morning so we ordered tofu stew set and it was delicious and just nice for such weather.

I would recommend this if you are staying around the area.

It has been 7 years since I last met Mel (가가멜) unni and she was worried if I would be able to recognize her. How can I not? I am so glad to see her again!

언니..오래만에 진짜로 반갑다! 언제까지도 언니의 예쁜얼굴을 기억해요^^

I had wanted to go to both Incheon’s Chinatown and Bupyeong market but since we do not have much time, unni suggested we skipped Bupyeong and took us first to Wolmido and then to Chinatown. We did not cross over to the island though but we had a long walk along the port area. Unni said this was what she used to do with her then boyfriend, now hubby, during their dating days hehe..

Unni said Incheon Chinatown history dates back over a hundred years ago and it was clearly depicted with Chinese wall paintings of The Three Kingdoms and buildings around the area.

Unni recommended Jajangmyon for lunch at one of the restaurant she frequents and it was yum yum!

언니 구경하고 공항까지 데리가 주셔서 정말로 고마워요. 다음에 또 인천에서 만나요! 나 아직 부평시장에 가고싶어요 ㅋㅋ

I used to ‘see’ Gimpo Airport through fans’ pictures whenever they chased Korean stars flying out of Seoul via Gimpo. It wasn’t really a big place so I had no problem finding Jeju Air counters and especially when they are in orange ^^

For the first time ever, I came across flight attendants playing games on board a flight. We played the Korean version of Rock, Paper, Scissors (Kai Bai Boh). Prize was a set of orange notepad but I lost on the second round boo hoo… Oh they even gave out cartoon balloons to the kids on board. So nice!

My first time in Jeju Island and I’m already loving it the moment I touched down. We checked into Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel which is on the northern part of the island east from the airport.

I later checked with the taxi ajosshi and he said it would always be wiser to stay on the northern part of the island either where I am now or in Jeju City itself for convenience of everything. Unless sun, surf and beach are your objectives then south west would be a better choice. You’ll probably understand as I take you on my little tour of Jeju later.

It was still too early for dinner so we went ‘supermarketing’ next door at EMart (Korea’s hypermarket). We were already thinking what we should eat for breakfast the next day so we bought some buns, rice cakes, ramyon, fresh vege and a bottle of Jeju orange juice. Both mom and I are Lock&Lock (container) freak so we got some of those and its definitely much cheaper compared to Malaysia :p

Then it was dinner time. Abalone time!

HwaJin JeonBok (화진전복) a restaurant frequented by our dear YJ. Ok. I guess one can never not do anything BYJ when in Korea but I actually did a search on this restaurant and they really did receive quite a number of good reviews for their food…hehe..

We ordered the Abalone Set and the Abalone porridge. One word. Delicious! In order to help digestion, we took a stroll along the coast just right in front of our hotel. Ahh..btw the restaurant is just about 5 mins walk away from the hotel ^^

Guessed I was too excited about touring the island that I made us got into the wrong taxi!!!

With Youngsun unni’s help I had rented a taxi that will take us on our excursion for the day. Taxi ajosshi even called the night before to ensure everything is ok. Our plan was to meet at the lobby at 9.30am but I wanted to check my mails so we came down to the lobby at 9.15am. At 9.25am ajosshi called to say that he’s here and I shall come now. So I got my things and we went out to the hotel entrance. Then, I heard someone calling out “Yokee-ssi!” I turned and an old taxi ajosshi coming my way. So happily we got into the taxi and I started telling him my itineraries. He said ok and just to reassure things I asked him on the rental fare again and he said 100,000won. It was supposed to be 90,000won as agreed but I thought after looking through the number of places I wanted to go he might need a little more so I said ok. We started off and about 5 mins later my phone ranged. I answered and “요키씨, 저의 택시 타지 않았어? 다른 택시 탔어요??” (Yokee-ssi, did you ride on another taxi??) Oh dear, oh dear! Then it struck me. No wonder he wanted 100,000won and the call-out sounding like “Yokee-ssi” was actually “Taxi?”

O.M.G.! We are on the WRONG taxi!

I quickly asked the old ajosshi to get back to the hotel. The correct ajosshi called again and asked to talk to the old ajosshi. Hearing the one sided conversation, I knew the correct ajosshi was scolding the old ajosshi and told him to take us back to where he is waiting now. When we got back to where he is, oh dear…. I saw a man of about 40s in light blue suit jacket with dark sunglasses waiting for us. It was kinda my mistake too so I paid the old ajosshi the fare shown on the meter which was 5000won even though I knew he cheated with that! We got into the correct taxi and waited while both ajosshis were still arguing. Basically, the correct taxi ajosshi blamed the old one for stealing and misleading his client (us). Haha.. anyway, things got settled and again we were on our way again after I explained and told the ajosshi our itineraries and of course we asked for his recommendation too.

But I told him, “입장 비 필요하면 가지 마세요.” (If there’s a need for entrance fees, then please don’t go.) Cheapskate? Well, that’s because these places are normally those ‘touristy’ places that exhibit things we’ve already seen. Ajosshi seemed to understand my point well and you’ll find out why later ^^

He even told me to ask him to stop the car anytime if I wanna take pictures.

Our first stop would be the Sunrise Peak (성산 일출봉 Seongsan Ilchulbong). We were driving along a stretch of bright yellow flowers when ajosshi stopped the car by the roadside. He ushered us to take some pictures while he went to talk to an old ajumma manning a little hut nearby. Later, he came and said that he has negotiated with the ajumma to allow us to get down among the field of flowers for pictures for a 50% discounted price of 1000won for 2 person. Paid the buck and off we went onto the field. Let me tell you, I’ve always dreamt of being among or ‘with’ a sea of flowers just like this. So jakun right? But I just can’t help it la..haha.

Finally, we reached Seongsan. It was quite breathtaking even looking from the foot. Mom did ask me to take to the top which would take about 40-50mins round trip but I just can’t leave my mom alone. I told mom not to worry, I’m coming back again and I’ll conquer Mt.Halla too. Guess what she said? “Then, when you come again, make sure you come here for the sunrise.” Yes, of course! And YES! Mom’s not calling me a freak anymore for coming to Korea again and again. Hahahaha.

Ajosshi said he’ll take us next to Seongup Folk Village for a short visit and then we’ll have lunch. Yep, black pig lunch. Hehe.. Before I could ask him he said no worry, the folk village is free J

There are actually a lot of these folk houses along the way and it depends which one you stopped at and basically they are all the same. I told ajosshi we couldn’t take much pic now as camera’s battery running low so I gotta save some energy for more nice stuff later. My fault for not charging the night before..DingDong me! If you’ve watch ‘Tamra, The Island’ or ‘Daejanggum’ before, the village here look just like those in the drama. In fact, the one we went to was used as one of ‘Daejanggum’s location.

Next, food time! 혹돼지 먹자!

Ajosshi recommended this particular restaurant but too bad I forgot to write down the name :p

The popular choice seemed to be the spicy marinated set but we wanted to taste the original taste of the pork so we went for the non-spicy ones and we were right to have chosen that. The pork tasted really different from our local pork and were delicious! Among the banchans served, mom got curious with one. Ajosshi said it’s called kosari (고사리) and started telling the goodness of it and how it’s being made from fresh. You know when it comes to description like this my Korean is just so-so but I managed to get the gist of it la..haha.. Lunch cost 48000won and yes we paid for his lunch too which is part of the deal.

We were on the road again when ajosshi stopped the car by the roadside in the middle of nowhere. He asked us to get down the car and walked us across the road squatted down and showed us some ‘weeds’. It was kosari. He explained that this is how it is fresh and which one can be eaten depending on the growth of the plant.

On our way, ajosshi took us to this section of the road where the blooming yellow canola flowers were planted on both side of the road. He said this is the prettiest place with canola on the island. He remembered my low battery camera so he said to just take a few nice pics will do. When we got back to the car, I realized, he purposely came to this road just to show us the beautiful sight because he made a U-turn back to where we were supposed to go for our next stop. So nice of him right?

Next stop the Jeongbang Waterfall (정방폭포). I’ve chosen Jeongbang over Cheonjeyeon Waterfall , which is just nearby, because of the presence of ‘haenyeo’ (sea women or female divers in Jeju).

I thought we were leaving the Jeongbang for the following destination when ajosshi said he’ll be taking us to another waterfall. Eh?? Quickly, he said “걱정마, 여긴 공자.” (Don’t worry, this is free) Hahaha. It was a mini waterfall just a few minutes away from Jeongbang. According to him, this is the smaller version of Jeongbang and frequented by the locals. I saw an Olle Route sign nearby so those going on this trail will get to see this fall too.

He also took us to Seongpanak (성판악) the highest ground on the island, before Mt.Halla which is 720m above sea level. There's a natural water source (spring water from the mountain) at this place where he said is refreshing and we should get a bottle of it and we did ^^

Next, Mom’s I-must-see place, The Mysterious Road (또깨비로).

Mysterious Road. Mom insisted on coming to this place. A friend told me not to waste my time because it’s all just an imagination. Well, mom has just got to see it to believe it! When we got there, ajosshi did the usual thing (I bet every guide will do the same), switch off the engine and let the car ‘roll uphill’ and it did! He then parked the car by the side, we came down and he scooped some water from a nearby stall, poured them on the road.

He rolled a bottle of mineral water on the road and it rolled uphill!

Mom wasn’t satisfied.

She took the scoop of water, poured them on the road from a reverse angle, but still it flow uphill!

Final attempt, she took the water bottle, made it to roll downhill, but the bottle stopped just there and rolled uphill!

Hahahahaha! Mom’s satisfied.

The ‘mystery’ is due to an optical illusion. The road appeared to be going uphill due to its surrounding. If you are as curious as my mom then please do drop by and have fun!

The night before, on Jeju TV was a report on the beautiful blooms of the cherry blossoms around Jeju University. I was telling this to the ajosshi and so on our way to our last destination of the day, he turned into the road leading to the university ^^

Final destination, 5-days Market (오일시장). Ajosshi’s advice: It’s kinda crowded in there. Just take a look around, you don’t have to buy anything but there’s quite a variety of food in there so you may try some of those.

So in we went and yeah it was crowded. A typical market with fresh vegies, seafood, dried stuff, household stuff, clothes and food etc. Some of the stuff sold here are Jeju’s specialty so it’s worth paying here a visit next time you are in Jeju.

By the time we got back to the hotel, it was slightly passed 6.00pm. Paid the ajosshi and to show our courtesy I gave him some oranges we bought along the way. But he refused and reminded me that he’s a local. During the day he did say how bad he feels for mom because he couldn’t speak English and he felt sorry not being able to communicate with her. I think he’s such a nice person. Taking us to those few ‘extra’ free spots and giving us some tips here and there. Oh, on our way back, he asked what I plan to have for dinner. I told him about having some nice hot guksu (극수noodle) and asked if he has any place he can recommend. Without our knowing he drove to a restaurant nearby and said that we can try that and even taught us how we can just walk back to the hotel which is just nearby.

We didn’t do much as it would be a noon flight out of Jeju. It has been a great 2 nights stay on the island. The food, beautiful sceneries, wonderful weather and oh nice ajosshi hehe..

I. Am. Absolutely. Impressed.!

i've just finished the book and those four words were what came into mind as soon as i closed the book.

culture, travel, journey, life, smile, fun, reality, laughter, education, eye-opener, food, alcohol, wine, satisfaction, enjoyment, friendship, sharing, respect, gratitude, history, family........

i don't know. there seemed to be no end to vocabularies if i were to describe what i gather from the read or how i feel about the book and of course what i think of BYJ having read his writting.

all i know now is that i'm having a thousand..maybe not, hundreds of '?' and opinions and plans as a result of the reading.

but i really got to say this first. i really, really, really, enjoyed reading the book! i was already expecting something really good but this is way WAY beyond what i was having in mind.

so for those of you out there who have yet to get a copy, be it in the original Korean, Japanese, Chinese or the English version, make sure you do NOW. i guarantee you, you will never be disappointed.

you may think i am being pro-BYJ but trust me, there'll be no regret. you'll just have to read it for yourself.

이전 사진집 발간과 드라마 <태왕사신기> 촬영 등으로 부상을 입은 목 디스크가 최근 추운 날씨와
촬영 등으로 급성 악화되어 병원에 입원하게 되었습니다.
현재 배용준씨는 안정을 취하며 치료에 최선을 다하고 있습니다. 한시라도 빨리 건강을 회복하여
가족 분들을 만나고자 치료에 매진하고 있으니 너무 큰 걱정 하지 않으셨으면 좋겠습니다.

이와 관련하여 한 가지 더 가족 분들께 양해의 말씀 드립니다.
올해 초 진행 예정이었던 <가족사진 프로젝트> 촬영은 당분간 진행이 어려울 것 같습니다. 빠른 시

The intense cold has been continuing every day. Are you all healthy and doing well?

Bae Yong Joon ssi's sudden news of his hospitalization seems to have you all worried, so I am taking this open forum to say a few words to you.

Since the recent publication of his photoshoot and shooting for the drama "TWSSG," pain from disc that he has in his neck from an injury has been worsening due to the cold and shooting. That has resulted in him being hospitalized.

Currently, Bae Yong Joon ssi is being stabilized through his treatments. He is doing everything to get better as quickly as possible to return being able to meet all of you, so it would be best to not worry too much.

With this, I would like to address one more thing with you all.

Plans to shoot "Family Portrait Project" early this year seems like it is going to be difficult. They will try their best to start shooting as soon as possible once Bae Yong Joon ssi's health is recovered. I ask from all of you for your deepest understandings.

From here on, everything that can be done to help Bae Yong Joon ssi recover as quickly as possible will be done. Please be healthy in this cold weather, and we will do my best to return to you all with nothing but good news.

“Yonsama” Bae Yong Joon silently watched the first airing of “Dream High” with his agency colleagues.

Bae Yong Joon played the role of chairman of the board, Jeong Ha Myung, as a guest star in KBS 2TV’s new Mon-Tue drama “Dream High” which started airing on January 3rd, 9:55 pm. He appeared in TV after 3 years since MBC’s “TWSSG” which ended in 2007.

After the drama aired, Bae Yong Joon appeared at Keyeast’s office which was located in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He silently left the office after he watched the drama with his agency colleagues including CEO Yang Geun Hwan.

In the telephone conversation with Newsen, CEO Yang Geun Hwan said, “(Bae Yong Joon) doesn’t watch the drama that much, but he stopped by the office in the middle of the drama, and watched it with us. He didn’t make a comment and left the office. We usually don’t talk about the drama.”

He also said, “I saw the real time viewing rates and expects two digits viewing rate. Anyway, it’s good because the evaluation and atmosphere after the first airing is good. Even the KBS drama department was encouraged a lot.”

Bae Yong Joon appeared in the first episode of “Dream High” and worked well with his junior casts even though he appeared as a guest star.

Bae Yong Joon appeared as a guest star and creative producer. Actually, as a planner of this drama, it has been recognized in the broadcast circles that he participated in the drama as one of the independent production companies.

its the beginning of another great year for us BMF. January 1st 2011.

we began the year with a gathering over lunch complete with laughter, wishes, hope and of cos photos and more laughter..hahaha..

well, first of all, thanks to yong (jaime) for arranging this particular lunch get together. it was actually a great turnout with 20 of us. i really didnt expect so many since this is just gonna be a..get together and i thought many would be away for the weekend..hehe.. so, really thanks alot !

ahh, my apologies for not being able fulfill all your hope of getting YJ's travel book today though i did think they will arrive soon...so mian~

anyway, i did really enjoy myself today with all the hahahahas and bwahahahahahas...

eh, now only i realised, how come there's food only on this table? where's the rest??

norni, im sure he can still remember u being the very first muslim fan he meet ^^

it was really a last minute arrangement as this happened when i was away on my holidays.
but im glad i managed to get it done and delivered all thanks to my wonderful unnis ^^

im glad BMF was able to make it presence at Kintex, Ilsan during the press con. since we can't be there in person, im sure it'll be good enough with the rice bouquet sent in congratulating and wishing him success and of cos for Dream High too ^^

Biggest contributor of the day was 1.32tonne of rice from Baetomisa www.cafe.daum.net/byjintoronto sisters whom at the same time has helped me a lot. They had 4 individual bouquets as well as one giant poster of YJ who caught the attention of many on that day. There were also bouquets from Baesaamo and a family from Japan.

All of BYJ fans donated a total of 1.66tonne of rice.
while the rest were from Taecyeon, 2PM & Suzy's (Miss A) fans making up a grand total of 1.97tonne.
these will normally be donated to malnourished children and the poor (charities) designated by the stars and fans. with 1.93tonne of rice, we are able to feed 16,000 child per meal & 180 person for a month.

FYI, we had seeked YJ's choice of charity but was advised instead to contribute according to choice/selection of the family. thus, i have initiated our rice to be delivered together with those of Baetomisa to a home for handicapped children called Bethelhouse in DaeJeon http://www.bethelhouse.co.kr/

i so absolutely love it when the man speaks and yes he has spoken.
smart, articulate(?), intelligent and honesty and sometimes sarcasm...hahaha yeah i find him to be that which i totally like!
really this is can be considered as one loonngg detailed interview in a looooooonnnnnnggggg time since the last he had. so im sure many of us were really sooo happy and glad to read this.
and if you know him and had been together with him at any gatherings, you'll know that he can be kinda long winded at times. he can be reluctant to leave or say goodbye especially when he's having fun that he'll ignore his manager(s) advice ^^

The charity event, “Smile Project” at Tokyo Dome in Japan. Meet Bae Yong Joon.

He just came down from the stage after he met over 30,000 fans at Tokyo Dome. Bae Yong Joon (38) was definitely “Yonsama” when he was smiling and waving with a composed demeanor from about 50m distance. But he is a totally different person when he falls into a chair after he changes from a suit to a cardigan. Was I the only one surprised when he asked us first, “Did you eat something?”, with his eyes wide open even though he was tired?

The interview started when we sat around the table in the waiting room. He gradually started looking like Bae Yong Joon from “Yonsama” when the interview went on. He passed off uncomfortable questions well, and went about sensitive issues appropriately. But he didn’t avoid the critical issues. The interview time took over 40 minutes until he stood up when someone from his agency kept bugging him that the staff of Tokyo Dome couldn’t go home because of us.

When he said, “I had fun. Didn’t you?”, I was really serious when I only nodded even though I couldn’t say “Yes.”

- A while ago, you suddenly untied your tie for donation, and you look so fresh and casual.
▶ Somehow, I was really feel sorry for them. Time went so fast, and I couldn’t do a lot. So I did unexpectedly. I haven’t had a chance to see that film yet.
- Why you didn’t speak Japanese the whole time until the end? You only spoke Japanese at the end of the event.
▶ Because, I’m not good at it. The reason I spoke Japanese today is because I came here as a representative of Korea.

- What was your feeling when you got all of the attention from 30,000 audiences on the stage?
▶ I can feel a warmth around my eyes, rather than shed tears, when I’m touched or feel a warm heart. Please don’t say that I cried (he laughs). I can express that feeling through my eyes when I feel a warm heart.

- It was your first stage with Kim Hyun Joong. What kind of person is Kim Hyun Joong when you see him in person?
▶ He is very enthusiastic and innocent. Actually, I’m sometimes motivated because of him. A while ago, I heard from him about his dream and passion, and I become enthusiastic again since then. He is truly a desirable young man.

- The fans says that you two look alike and there are pictures comparing the two of you.
▶ I really appreciate that. When I shot “TWSSG”, someone told me that I, in the picture without glasses, was similar to Kim Hyun Joong. I was very happy to hear that (laugh).
- You have returned to the shooting sites for “Dream High” after a long time. How do you feel?
▶ The atmosphere is very good. The producers are working very hard and even the cast members are working hard with great enthusiasm even though they are young. I returned to shooting after being gone for a long time and I’m trying to work like a newcomer.

- You don’t work as an actor often.
▶ Please talk to my manager about that. They are the ones who don't bring me work. I don’t care what kind of work it is. I’m not picky on the role. I don’t care whether it is a drama or movie.
- Is it difficult for you to choose because of your perfectionism?
▶ Not really.
- What made you work with Park Jin Young?
▶ We spoke with each other about our dreams to someone. That person said, “How come two of you have a very similar dream?” That made us come together.

Jin Young ssi works within the areas related to music and choreography. I also help the directors, writer, and young actors at the location.

- Can you tell me in detail which parts matched?
▶ I didn’t receive any professional education. I have been thinking that we would like to have a professional school that produces entertainers. Actually I dream to establish that kind of school. Meanwhile, we have the same thought, “Then, how about making a drama?” That is a part we both matched.

In the beginning, we had an idea that Bae Yong Joon appears as Bae Yong Joon, and Park Jin Young appears as Park Jin Young. It’ll be a lot of fun even though our idea didn’t work out.
- Are you really interested in working in education?
▶ I expressed my thought repeatedly. I’m most interested in the environmental and educational issues.

- You became Yonsama from an actor, and now you are changing your position to train and support your junior colleagues.
▶ We are heading in too deep of a direction... You’re right. It seems that I just follow the passage of time, not making something unwillingly. It’s true that I was confused a bit and I felt some emptiness in a weak moment. I was motivated by Hyun Joon’s enthusiasm. Don’t you agree with me? Please don’t write it down seriously.
- Are you depressed?
▶ Any one has that. All modern men have depression.
- Do you have any issues or concerns? If so, what is it?
▶ I had lots of problems. I don’t think it will be resolved soon. It’s my personal problem. Of course it’s the same as others. It’s the matter of how to accept and overcome from it. I think I will be able to overcome from it.

- How do you relieve stress?
▶ I haven't been able to find a relief yet. I felt pressure since I stay home a lot. I would like having soil beneath my feet, so I wanted to move to the countryside. My manager thought that I might dig through the ground and start farming. So I didn’t look around house, but my manger did.

- There was a rumor that you purchased the house to marry someone in 2011.
▶ That’s why I told you before. (Bae Yong Joon said to his fans, “Please introduce a girl to me.”) I rarely go out, so I don’t have opportunities. But the marriage rumors kept floating around. Maybe, it is the time to get married. If I marry, then I’ll release the story.

- Your sister is already married and you have a nephew.
▶ I like children and enjoy playing with them. I want to marry, but it’s not my choice.
- Are you close to Lee Na Young? There was marriage rumor from the stock market.
▶ Na Young appeared in the drama, “Have we really loved?” as my younger sister. I wonder where those rumors are coming from. It’s really weird. Before, I had wine with a make-up artist and Song Hye Kyo. But there was an article saying that I met Lee Ji Ah instead at night. So I said, “Apparently, you don't really exist, Hye Kyo.” (laugh).
- Is there any reason you purchased your house this late?
▶ People are coming to look around the house because it is a leased house. (Everyone laughed) I couldn’t refuse them even though it was very uncomfortable with me. There are no other reasons for it. Wind can’t come in and it’s a closed space. I would like to take steps on the ground. Moving makes everyone difficult, and the owner wants to raise the rental costs often. (laugh) I might not feel the need to move.
- Do you like any girls’ band? Who is your favorite band?
▶ I guess you want to drive me to be an "uncle fan." (laugh) I saw them a lot while I’m preparing “Dream High. They are pretty and cute. Who is my favorite band? Hmm... Taec Yeon of 2PM? (Taec Yeon is the one of the main casts of “Dream High”.)
- I heard that you have a karaoke machine in your house. Why are you not singing at the event?
▶ Because I can’t sing well. (laugh) I wanted to practice singing, so I bought the machine. I think I can sing well after I drink, but it’s hard when I sing at home. It’s hard to hear myself singing. Hmm... like that... I’ll try again. Hyun Joong told me he would teach me how to dance. (Everyone is quiet.)
- Then, can we see you dance sometime soon?
▶ I hope so, but I can’t dance well. It’s a bit embarrassing. But I have had thoughts about it. It looks so smooth for singers and dancers when they lift or stretch their hands over their shoulders. I thought that I might be able to do it if I dance.

- You get so much love from Japan. Aren’t you relatively frustrated in Korea? It may not be an issue to compare.
▶ Then, why do you ask that kind of question? (Laugh) I received the same question last time. I’m popular in Korea too.. (laugh)

I saw this in one of the forums I regularly visit that is not BYJ related and I want to share it with you.

Fandom is focus. Fandom is obsession. Fandom is insatiable consumption. Fandom is sitting for hours in front of a TV screen a movie screen a computer screen with a comic book a novel on your lap. Fandom is eyestrain and carpal tunnel syndrome and not enough exercise and staying up way, way past your bedtime.(fandom is instant technical know how on downloading, uploading, making websites, forums, videos and just about anything related to the world wide web. fandom is exorbitant electricity and dsl fees)
fandom is something i never tot i'll part of it and being stuck to it...scotch tape, UHU glue, contact adhesive..you name it.

Fandom is people you don't tell your mother you're meeting. Fandom is people in the closet, people out and proud, people in costumes, people in T-shirts with slogans only fifty others would understand. Fandom is a loud dinner conversation scaring the waiter and every table nearby. i just need to post this photo which i absolutely like so so much.

it's dec 12th sunday today and both brothers have arrived in Tokyo 2 days ahead of the Hohoemi Smile Project event scheduled on Tuesday at Tokyo Dome.

YJ did 2 very significant thing today that really really touched my heart.

1st at Kimpo Airport on his departure. he actually made a u-turn back out from the hall to wave to a group of fans which he thought he has not acknowledge earlier before getting into the gate.

next on arrival at Haneda Airport. he was already in the car on the way out but he stopped and got down from the vehicle and walked along where all fans have been waiting to wave and greet them.

he always make sure his fans are able to have a good look at him and he to acknowledge and greet all fans. he always make your wait worthwhile.

can anybody tell me if there is any other star/artiste that will actually do this?

having been a fan for more than 8 years, till now i am still amazed with what this man can and will actually do.

and for some days to come, the Bae World will once again be abuzzed. with the addition of HJ, things will even be more exciting!

Family gathering with KHJ???

These may be some of the questions you may ask of me:

Are working for TFS?

Are you a KHJ fan?

If not then why are you doing all these?

My answer to all of the above, Bae Yong Joon.

It was because of YJ that I got acquainted with TFS. So when news broke that they would be bringing KHJ, I volunteered to help them with the fans portion. Why? Mostly because HJ has become part of our Bae family so somehow I feel I’m supposed to do something to help one way or the other.

And the thing about KHJ, well, ok I do like him la… I think I’ve watched all of his TV works and listened enough of SS501 to know and actually talked about these boys. Ok, HJ is the one I like most among them I admit. I think it’s difficult not to right? Even so, I didn’t want to call myself a fan. Why? Well, it’s a tiring task you know :p

When YJ, I mean Keyeast decided to sign him on I was elated. It was like YJ has heard our voices calling for him to get him on board haha..but this is another story to be told :p

Oh, I’ve deviated. Ok, so anyway, I was ‘in-charged’ of bringing in the fans for the event.

So for the first time ever, I had to go searching and calling up people I don’t know and who don’t know me. First the 2 local FCs representatives, Rachel and Tyra. Then it was to BB in Singapore who after much thought decided not to come herself but instead helped arranged for the others from Taiwan and Korea(PERFECT) to join us. You have no idea how tough a decision it was for me to help these fans to get them their TFS products in order for them to take their chances at the lucky draw for HJ’s autograph. I had to rang up to a total of 20 over receipts for 2 different types of purchases without a shopping list from the purchasers themselves..haha ladies, I hope those products I’ve chose suits your needs ^^

Oh Thailand. Yeah Thai fans did cross my mind and first thing I did was to call my Bae sister in Bangkok to ask if she knows of any HJ or TripleS fans in Thailand. None. So, my apologies to those Thai fans who came all the way. Perhaps I’ll advise the local FCs to get in touch with all of you for future communication. ^^

Soon, finally as the day draws nearer, and when my passes have all been given out, my dear sister BB called to ask for additional passes. Haha, seemed like some gals just got itchy and decided to fly in with him to KL. Yeah I know how it feels. Anyway, in the end I managed to get them all in ^^

Hmm.. I’m supposed to talk about family gathering and look now where I’ve gone to :p

Ok so, like all Bae sisters around the world, each time when one from country A visits the other in country B, they will always arrange for a meet up and the host will play host and the guest will play guest. And I believe, ever since I’ve become part of the Bae family in 2002, this hospitality has never fail. Wherever you go, there will be someone there you can call ‘family’. What do we do then? Well besides the usual eat and ‘play’, we talk. Trust me, we really TALK.

This time, my guests coming in aren’t any Bae family so what is there to talk about? Haha..KHJ

Even though I am only meeting all, yeah ALL, of them for the first time, (there’s a lot of ‘first time’ with BYJ so we Bae family are used to it ^^) I can somehow feel some closeness with all of them. Probably maybe it’s because I consider HJ as part of the family hence all of his fans are also family.

The Taiwanese fans, Ya-Chih and Chia-Ling were the first 2 I met on Friday night with Emily. Then the 3 PERFECTs from Korea and finally the others from Singapore. I was glad that our local TSMY gals got a chance to get to know all of the others because chances like these are really rare in Malaysia. Dinner on Saturday after the fans session was a merry in the making even though the 20 of us had to sit in 4 separate tables.

To me, it was all fun and I really really enjoyed myself. Talking, chatting and laughing about HJ. The gals sharing their experiences with HJ, their first time with HJ, their special moments…many more.

Gives me the ‘yesterday once more’ feel during my hey-days of BYJ chasing. You may have people not understanding how you feel but trust me, I know exactly how you feel..hehe.. I enjoyed the late night talks we had especially with Ya-Chih’s story. The one I like best was when she told me how she planned to see HJ off at the airport but woke up late that morning. She had to rush to the airport and keep praying “I will see him, I will see him, I will see him..” and when she got to the airport, she was relieved. HJ too was late for his flight. Isn’t it just amazing how some fans really have the kind of fate with their idols?? Call it coincidence if you want but to many even myself, it is really fate 인연

Now, how and where should I begin???

Ok, the weather. Today’s weather. Now as I begin writing this, it’s raining cats and dogs outside. I can’t even see the building across the road so you can imagine how heavy it is. It has been rainy for the past 2 weeks practically every single day running up to the event. So, those of us who were involved directly or indirectly to this event were praying hard for it not to rain at least on the big day itself last Saturday especially because it will be an outdoor event. Eventually, it really did not rain on all 3 days when he was here except for some drizzle intervals on Saturday but just before HJ arrived on location the drizzle stopped. It didn’t rain on Sunday too. It was only today, Monday that the rain came back in max volume. Looks like even the one up there likes HJ very much ^^

Again, where should I begin? But first, let me warn you. This is gonna be a very wordy write up because believe it or not, even though I was carrying my camera in my bag, I did not take it out even once for a shot. So I’m sorry I don’t have pictures to share but I’m sure you would have saw many pics posted everywhere right? Mian~

Let’s see.. ok. Friday night 3^rd Dec.

I wasn’t able to welcome HJ at the airport due to the dinner I had to attend. Throughout the night I kept looking at my watch that my colleagues were asking if there’s anything wrong with me and I didn’t want to leave the dinner early before all lucky draw prizes have been given out hahaha..this is the only thing everybody look forward to during every company dinner right? So how can I leave? Cheapskate huh? Haha :p

But I was supposed to meet up with the overseas fans at the hotel and I was afraid to make them wait. Finally, dinner ended and I got to the hotel at about midnight. Met up first with the Taiwanese fans and then the Singapore rep.

Saturday 4^th Dec

It was drizzling early in the morning and I was already getting worried. At that moment I was really singing ‘rain rain go away come again another day’. Drove to pick up SY before heading to the hotel for the press conference (PC). Yup, KHJ was staying at Ritz Carlton Residence. Nice place!

While we were waiting for our little brother to come, I had the opportunity to chat with Mr.Shin/SP Shin, the bodyguard. For those who may not know, SP Shin is YJ’s ‘usual bodyguard’ who has been with him for quite some time now. And this time round he came with HJ.

Unni, I really don’t know if he knows me but when I told him ‘Baetomisa’ he smiled and said “ahhhh..” ^^ I passed him our Baeto’s messages to HJ and also the present for Yang’s daughter. Now, that I remember, I wonder who will pass it to Yang? Shin or will HJ bring it back with him? Oh, I’m so stupid. How can Shin pass them to Yang when he’s not Keyeast??? Oh someone please shoot me!

Ok well anyways.

HJ was a little late coming in for the PC. He looked really tired and not really smiley in the beginning. But soon he was ok but still you can tell that this little brother didn’t seem to have slept well and wasn’t really feeling good. I was thinking he may be worried or something may have been bugging him that he couldn’t sleep well. Was he worried about the small fans turnout at the airport on arrival? Hence, how many will be there at the fans session later? I don’t know but these seemed to be bugging me too because I always believe that fans presence is something very important to an artiste.

After the PC, we went down to Pavilion. And my oh my….I was glad to see the crowd before my eyes.

It was only about 1pm and yet many people were already in line. And the participating fans were the first in line. Oh, they were such good gals ^^ During the registration, I was approached by some Thai fans which I now know were supposed to be from Hyuniversal.

(Gals, please help me tell them that I am very sorry that I couldn’t do anything at such last moment due to the quota given to me by TFS. I saw some of the photos taken by them and I hope wherever they were taken from the gals didn’t have much difficulties because the crowd beyond the barrier were really scary, more on this later)

Soon, as time near, the crowd got bigger and bigger. You know it was really fun doing all this like helping the gals put up their banners and balloons and oh yeah the pretty bouquet from KHJ Perfect too. I am sure he saw all of them and we have arranged for the bouquet to be brought back to his room after the event that day. I later told the good looking bodyguard that the bouquet was actually from the Perfect fans who came and he was very surprised and said he will make sure for it to be placed in HJ’s room ^^

Oh, let me digress a little to the good looking bodyguard hahahaha..

According to the list of the names I got and if there’s no last minutes changes to it, this good looking fella should be Mr. Jeong. I noticed that he was the one always standing by HJ throughout the whole tour except that I don’t seem to see him with the team on arrival at Incheon today. He was also a nice guy and yeah a very good looking one too. Gals, I bet most of you who saw him think so too right?

Anyway, after the fans session on Saturday and back at the hotel, he suddenly came down to the lobby and walked towards us who were waiting with the bunch of gifts. (Fans were not allowed to present their gifts during the event so I asked them to bring them to the hotel) I told the good looking bodyguard that all these were presents plus snacks from the fans to both HJ and staff. As usual he said thank you and all and said will arrange for all to be sent to the room. Then SY said we should ask him for a photo. So I did but he said ‘No’ then I said ‘you are very good looking’ he smiled. After some brief chat he said his thank you again and went back up. So there you have it. But come to think of it, I think he’s quite new because I don’t think I’ve seen him before anywhere. Next time, must tell KE and Shin to recruit him as well. Hahahahaha. Ok end of good looking bodyguard story :p

Oh dear, let me get back to the event. So, the crowd got bigger and soon everyone who has been waiting in line hours ago was allowed to get in the barricaded area zones by zones. The frontliners (after the media) were of course the fans ^^

Then Shin arrived on site earlier as always to check out the place. As soon as he got there he noticed that fans on the outside of the barricaded area on the left were pushing their way forward and immediately spoke of his concern. You know, Shin can be seen as quite a serious guy but actually he’s really friendly. Haha and I’m glad he can understand my bad Korean. It was fun chatting with him. Because he knows who I am he said that ‘oh, YJ’s going to

will you be going too?’ and when we were telling him that we were worried about the rain, he said ‘oh no worries, we can use this’ showing me the umbrella he was holding in his hand and then had it open and held it over our heads. So cute huh?

Slightly, before 5pm, HJ arrived. As soon as he step down the car and walked on stage, I could actually see that he was really happy seeing the number of people in front of him. He said that in his hello speech too right? And he too sensed the ‘danger’ for the fans on the left side of the stage just like Shin had said earlier. Believe me, everyone was really excited to see the real Kim Hyun Joong and concerts aside I don’t think there is any other Korean artiste who is able to have such a big gathering of fans in one single venue in one single day in Malaysia ever before. Were there any???

Soon, after all the formalities, he sat down and got the sign session started. He was to sign for 210 lucky draw winners. In the beginning, everything was on a normal speed, fans were allowed to go in group of ten up the stage. Soon, sensing something not right, Shin came down from the stage and went to the left side of the compound and tried to calm the fans down as they were pushing even further in front which was really dangerous. Shin saw some ladies who were sardined in front and asked if they were ok. Actually both him and the good looking fella came round a few times asking for restrain. And I presumed this is one of the reason why things were then speed up. We were then asked to let more people in and to make the line move faster. Due to safety, they had to get things over and done with fast. In the end everything was over in just short of an hour. So it wasn’t because the bodyguards or his managers were strict in not letting him shake hands and receive gifts but they were concerned of the public safety.

After the event at about 6 plus we walked back to the hotel to get the gifts issue settled which was what I’ve already wrote, with the good looking bodyguard. Then we waited around and soon it was time for him to go for dinner. He was singing and walking out of the lobby when he saw SY and I standing by the main entrance, he turned smiled and nodded in acknowledgement at us. Suddenly, missing a step, he tripped a little, and everyone went ‘omo omo oh oh oh’ haha it was quite funny then but of course he didn’t fall and even greeted more fans as he got into the car. Let me tell you, he was looking really really happy.

Unni, that look and smile he gave SY and I was like as though he has read our messages in Baeto and that he knew that it was us. Hahaha..

And this was the last I saw of him on Saturday.

Lastly, on Sunday morning again we waited for him at the same place again, yes by the main entrance, and when he came, again he nodded and smiled at us before he walked into the car and off to Pavilion for the first outlet visit. We too got over to Pavilion but because of the crowd we only watched from far. SY and I decided to end out KHJ chase at Pavilion as we did not want to travel to the other outlet which will be more than 30 mins away by car.

We had brunch before getting back to the hotel at about 1 plus and we saw that he was already back at the hotel. We wanted to meet Shin again and ask him for a pic so we stuck around but after some time we decided to put an end to our crazy star-chasing outing. Shin was no where to be seen and so we went home.

So, there you have it. and if you read every single word i have wrote, I did not at any time get up close and personal with him. Of course i wished i have that chance but well that didn't happen.

Sigh...but anyhow I had fun throughout. You'll know why when I write my next final part about meeting with the fans ^^

Most exciting week for the year of 2010

I thought having the prospect of working for a total new MNC status company would be the most exciting chapter for the year. (The company I worked for has changed hands from Mr. Sugar King to that of Mr. Gwailos, from being a local listed company to a part of a company on the NYSE)

But, well, I was wrong. Very wrong.

The past one week WAS the MOST exciting and I can warrant it a 120% stamp and to close 2010 with it. There were 2 occasions actually.

First, it was KTO KL’s “Inspiring Korea Night 2010” (IKN10) held on 2nd Dec 2010. Next, was of course KHJ’s TFS Asia Tour to KL on 4th & 5th Dec 2010.

And it was of no help that my company’s annual dinner has to come in between those date on the 3rd. So I was more than a little haywire for the whole of last week thinking of all those preparation I had to do. Ok, not that I need to prepare anything for the company dinner but somehow it will take up my early evening/nite on Friday.

Let me start with the first occasion.

Thursday, 2nd Dec 2010 - KTO KL’s “Inspiring Korea Night 2010” (IKN10)

Our local KTO (Korea Tourism Organisation) KL office had in mid of this year established a club called ‘Saranghaeyo Korea Club’ (SKC) with the purpose of promoting Hallyu in Msia. Recently, with the increasing number of members (+1000) joining the club, KTO has decided to form a Board of Directors to oversee and manage activities and events. So, as a result 2 of our BYJ’s Msia Family (BMF) members, Shien Yin and myself was appointed to the board with 6 others coming from other various fanclubs. BMF is very proud and happy that we have 2 representatives on board and I would have the family to thank to ^^

I was very happy too that there were 16 invitations in all to our BMF members to the wonderful dinner. Then surprisingly, I was announced as one of the 2 ‘Most Inspiring Member’! I wonder how KTO evaluate one to be the most inspiring. One who is most talkative or one who is most talked about?? Anyway, for that I was awarded with a glass ‘trophy’ and a LG touch screen mobile phone!!!

Yayy!!! What a surprise and a great coincidence! My old mobile set was just about to give up on me so imagine my happiness when I got the new phone hehehehe ^^ Oh, on acceptance of the award I was asked to say a few words. Guess what? I said “I only have one person to thank to, Bae Yong Joon!” My goodness ! I wonder what went into my head to have those words coming out of my mouth! Seriously, if KTO have told me earlier that I will be winning that award I would have prepare a more decent thank you speech. So let me right now make a better and proper thank you speech.

“The inspiration comes from BYJ no doubt. But the support is definitely from the family and KTO. Thank you!”

Wait, this is not all, at least not for BMF. Among the raffles draw prizes for the night (return air tickets to Korea, Ginseng Products, LG Microwave Oven, Wonder Girls Concert, Gopeng Resort Full Package and TheFaceShop hampers) 3 of our members won 1 return ticket to Korea, 2 LG M/Oven and a pair of WG tickets! Can you imagine the noise that these ajummas can make in the hall of about 300 guests?? Even with the presence of the big bosses of the Korean organisations we couldn’t hold back our excitement and be lady-like. Haha..it was really a night to remember for us BMF ^^

BMF Gathering Of The Year 2010

WOW!!!

it really has been a while since i last arranged such a 'big' gathering.

but first, i would like to express my gratitude to ALL of you who came to today's meet-up. i really really appreciate it that we are all still ONE and still 'faithful' to YJ, ok though some of us might have a little 'affair' here and there BUT yet i am sure you came because somehow you are still BYJ.

the arrangement was not really all that 'smooth-going' because 3 days before reservation to our initial gathering venue was cancelled !! restaurant said they are relocating hence they will be close. oh dear ! how can this happened??? so anyhow we ended up with this buffet lunch thingy hehe..

this is our door gifts. many of which are my collection..sob sob....KTO's and TFS's gifts ^^

well, it all started with the usual 'Hi' 'Hello' 'Long time no see, how are you?' stuff and those long time chat and then eat eat and eat. And since this lunch were buffet styled you can imagine the amount of food consumed. (hey, now that i remembered, i didn't even had time to try their dessert/ice cream/fruits/teppanyaki and oh my not even...oh...)

ok, i was busy and ok i supposed i can loose a little fat then :p

apart from all this, in order to get all our sisters' brains to work, i had them played some games..hehe...

first, i gave them a Q&A quiz with 20 questions about both BYJ and Korea/Korean related stuff. my~ this seemed to really get them working and suddenly our area became sooooo quiet when everyone concentrated on answering the questions. believe me, you'll loved to see that moment..haha.. we had 3 prizes for 3 winners to this game. first prize included an original copy of BYJ's 2008 autograph for BMF and the winner was Clara Sia !

next was a game played in a pair of 2 person. prior to the game, each pair were given time to read through a 'kimchi making' recipe. among the set of questions given, one question posted will ask to provide the basic ingredients involved and list basic steps of making kimchi. one particular must have been so really excited that they left out the most basic ingredient needed. CABBAGE !!!!! sister, how can you make kimchi without cabbage??

and then, there was this question where i cropped out mouth of both Jowon & King Damduk and ask them to identify who's mouth belongs to whom. can you identify them yourself??

this part game was won by JennyT and ShienYin ^^ and their prize include 2 wonderful hampers contributed by The Face Shop.

oh, yeah lucky draw ! something which is loved by all because they dont need to answer anything :p easy huh? well, i didnt really made easy though. we had 2 rounds of draw. one easy, where each one were asked to draw a number from 1-20. prizes were only given to those who drew 8, 2, 9 & 7. do you know why? ^^

then 2nd round of draw. one lucky draw which even i myself had to participate due to the prizes involved. prizes for this were contributed by Rosie from Japan and when i showed the goodies one by one, everyone were going...'oooohhh' and 'wahhhhh'...

this time i went to get 20 cups of ginseng hot tea and each cup was numbered from 1-20. these cups were placed randomly and mixed about. really, when i was filling the tea i had no idea what number each cup was. i did not peak !

i splitted rosie's goodies into 10 sets and had them numbered the night before, numbers were randomly picked from 1-20. so, everyone was asked to pick their own cup of tea without knowing that there were number at the bottom of the cup..hehe...and i made myself the last to pick so see, i did not cheat :p

after drinking, they were asked to check for their number at the bottom of the cup and those whose number matched those on the japan goodies gets it ! my number was 13 and i got the TWSSG perfume !!!!!!! hehehehe..hey remember...all of you ladies were given the chance to choose your own cup before me ok? :p

next, i would like to say welcome to Sabrina (can i call you sabrina? ^^) our newest member to the family.

my utmost gratitude to KTO and The Face Shop Msia for their neverending support to our family. you will always be a part of our family !

last but not least, to our dear BYJ. thanks for his wishes and autograph and for always acknowledging us Malaysia family.

just when i thought i would just lie low and be quiet forever....

i supposed its a case of 'once a priest, always a priest' !

who would have thought that the ever so 'slow moving' korean wave here in malaysia is still surviving despite the almost non-publicity of the, i would say, trend of the century?

why?

yeah, it's true that we are really getting more and more share of the act here, the number of korean restaurants mushrooming, k-dramas on tv (never mind the dubbed versions :p) and even the growth of korean language classes in town.

then?

i do not know. perhaps i shouldn't even make any comparison with our neighboring countries where they are already experiencing double or maybe triple amount of what i've mentioned above. right? no?

i supposed its not anyone's fault and i do know the kind of 'constraint' and limitation AND DIFFICULTIES involved especially when it comes to k-entertainment matters.

where am i getting to with this? i do not know. ha.

recently, i've been 'active again' or 'reactivated' with BYJ stuff.
the family is still 'breathing' of course. in fact, we'll be having a family gathering mid next month and this time we have even created our very own BYJ calendar ^^

ironically, just when i wanted to ask myself again why i am still going through all the trouble and still bother to do something for someone who do not even know me (many of my close friends do question my sanity with regards to this issue..heh), 3 days ago i received an email from KTO KL inviting fanclubs to an interview by a Korean journalist from Chosun Ilbo.

so what should i do?

believe me, the first thought that came to my mind was "i'll give this a pass. it's just another korean wave survey." the moment i click away from that mail, the word 'GUILT' came hovering over my head and the next thing you know, i'm typing away here and there checking with xiaoyi on our 'family history'.

we dig and dug and finally came out with something which we'll be making it available for the interview later. (today 29 oct 2010)

amazing?

i would say "Yes. Absolutely!"

during the course of updating our family chronologies, i realised how 'active' we actually are though we have been 'inactive' at the same time. does this mean we have not gone into hibernation mode?

yesterday night, as i was rummaging through my BYJ stuff, i found something that surprised even myself. a self-penned poem for BYJ which i've written during my early and hey days of BYJ in 2002. yeah u read it correctly two.zero.zero.two.

the card was designed with 2 very nice pictures of him and i even had the card laminated nicely. then i started reading the many words scribed. *goosebumps* how can i ever write such thing to a man who do not know me??? he REALLY do not know me that time 8 years ago, okay. am i nuts???

will i ever do or write something like that again? "NO"
see? this is why and it is true when i say that there have been many 'first time' and many 'only and absolutely for BYJ' with the man.

have you also been there done that?

anyhow seriously, at this very moment, i am still absolutely BYJ.
i do have my fair share of 'kimchi affairs' here and there, now and then, but this shows that i am not crazy and am 120% SANE.

this 'absolutely BYJ' thingy has evolved into something even more than just star-gazing.

i love my family
i am looking forward to finding someone whom i can call 'hubby' and he does not have to be a korean
(see? told ya im perfectly normal :p)
i have a job
i have good money to spend

most importantly, i am happy !

so enjoy life and keep smiling ^.* /

ps: ladies, make sure you make it to our gathering this time round. trust me, you will be as happy as can be...hehehehe...

Kang Joon Sang Once More...

i have been 'quite into' dramas of late...korean ones of cos. i've finished Takku (King of Bread), watching Seungjo (Playful Kiss) and Sungkyunkwan Scandal...of its a 'must watch' for the latter. my fav character/guy is Gu Yongha/Sung Joongki...he's sooooooo cute !

so, ok, anyway...all these dramas got me quite 'worked up' and all of a sudden i wanted to watch Joonsang/Winter Sonata/WLS again.

seriously, up until now....8 years plus, i have yet to get myself a real/original copy of WLS. can you believe that? i have no idea why i still didnt get my hands on them but one particular reason is because i only want the original original copy, ie. the original korean with eng subs from korea. hehe..

ok so, i've got no choice but to look for an online version. i was watching the first 15mins of episode 1 a while ago and wow...i am still amazed with Kang Joonsang !

i mean it has been ages ago but how come he still look so good and so so likeable? i confessed it wasnt 'love at first sight' for me (it was only during the playful snow scene btw joonsang and yujin that i went head over heels) so when now that im watching it again, even only at the start of the 1st episode, i realised that he is actually already so really charming !

what am i trying to tell here? well, i guessed i just realised that there is something as 'everlasting'. even now, even if i am only watching WLS for the 1st time, i will also go head over heels over Kang Joonsang or of cos Bae Yongjoon !

most of the time, at least for myself, when i do watch some of those 8-10 years old dramas, i'll find those actors/actresses old fashioned and boring looking but absolutely not with YJ. no, im not being biased, his good looks are and i'll now say forever everlasting.

ok i know i should really seriously absolutely get myself a copy of WLS when i get my feet on his ground..hehe..

anyone out there watching at the moment?
